Scottville taking steps to find new city manager.

SCOTTVILLE — The City Commission is taking steps to find a new city manager, but first, it is going to make sure its policies and procedures are inline with each other. Last month, Courtney Magaluk resigned as city manager following an investigation by the Commission that revealed that she had neglected several of her duties, including failing to file revenue sharing reports with the state.

City Attorney Carlos Alvarado recommended during Monday’s regular commission meeting that a review should be conducted to synchronize internal documents such as the personnel manual and job description with the city’s charter. He also recommend that a new contract template be adopted.

The Commission took action to have its personnel committee take on the task and then report back to the commission with its recommendations.

According to the city charter, the commission has 90 days to replace the city manager after a vacancy exists.
