2 vehicles stolen Saturday.

PERE MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP — The Mason County Sheriff’s Office is investigating two separate stolen vehicle incidents that occurred Saturday, Feb. 6. One of the vehicles was recovered, and one is still missing, according to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.

The first stolen vehicle was reported at 9:30 a.m. in the 5900 block of West Sixth Street in Pere Marquette Township. “The complainant reported a 2003 Ford Windstar green minivan stolen from her home,” said Sheriff Cole. “The vehicle is still missing and bears a Michigan registration of EEZ 1337.”

The second car theft was reported shortly after 6:30 p.m. in the 5900 block of West US 10 in Pere Marquette Township. “The complainant reported going into a store and leaving the keys in the vehicle,” said Cole. “During the five minutes she was inside the store, an unknown person stole her vehicle. The vehicle, a 2020 Kia Sportage was recovered on Feb. 7 by the Ludington Police Department. The case remains under investigation by the sheriff’s office.”

  • 9:34 a.m., alarm activation, Pere Marquette Township. 
  • 5:37 p.m., (MCSO), a 52 year-old Ludington man was cited for operating without a license following a one-vehicle crash, non-injury crash, Pere Marquette Highway and Meisenheimer Road, Summit Township.
  • 6:32 p.m., (MCSO), two-vehicle hit-and-run crash, no injury, US 10 east of Brye Road Amber Township.

Saturday, Feb. 6, 2021:

  • 12:10 p.m., (MCSO), vehicle slide-off — no damage/no injury, US 31 freeway north of Oceana Drive, Summit Township.
  • 3:33 p.m., (MCSO), one-vehicle crash, no injury, Stiles Road south of Dewey Road, Victory Township.
  • 10:05 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Stiles Road north of Fountain Road, Victory Township.

Sunday, Feb. 7, 2021:

  • 10:27 a.m., (MCSO), vehicle slide-off — no damage/no injury, US 10 and Amber Road, Amber Township.
  • 5:22 p.m., (MCSO), alarm activation, City of Scottville.
  • 5:34 p.m., (MCSO), vehicle slide-off — no damage/no injury, US 31 freeway near Conrad Road overpass, Amber Township.
  • 6:43 p.m., (MCSO), gas drive-off, $15 in fuel was stolen, Express Mart, 5500 block of West US 10, Pere Marquette Township.
  • 9:59 p.m., (Michigan State Police), a 34-year-old Manistee man was cited for driving while license suspended and operating without insurance, Townline Road near Quarterline Road, Victory Township.
