SHERIDAN TOWNSHIP — A 30-year-old Ludington woman was arrested for second-offense operating while intoxicated (OWI) after she backed her vehicle into a Mason County Sheriff’s Office patrol car during a traffic stop Wednesday, Feb. 3, shortly after 11 p.m. on Benson Road north of Decker Road, according to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.

“Minor damage was reported to the suspect vehicle, and (there was) no damage to the patrol vehicle,” said Sheriff Cole.

Other Mason County Sheriff’s Office activity Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2021 includes:

  • 1:07 a.m., a 43-year-old Ludington man was arrested for operating with a high blood alcohol content (BAC) following a traffic stop, Bryant Road and Washington Avenue, Pere Marquette Township.
  • 5:01 a.m., car/deer crash, no injury, Sugar Grove Road east of Schoenherr Road, Sheridan Township.
  • 5:17 a.m., car/deer crash, no injury, Chauvez Road west of Custer Road, Eden Township.
  • 5:45 a.m., car/deer crash, no injury, US 31 south of Decker Road, Custer Township.
  • 5:52 a.m., alarm activation, Pere Marquette Township.
  • 6:40 p.m., car/deer crash, no injury, US 31 freeway south of US 10, Amber Township.
  • 9:30 p.m., a 32 year-old Scottville man was arrested for second-offense OWI and driving while license suspended (DWLS) following a one-vehicle crash without injury, Tuttle Road near Millerton Road, Sherman Township.
