Pentwater woman injured following rollover crash.

RIVERTON TOWNSHIP — A 23-year-old Pentwater woman was injured following a single vehicle crash on South Scottville Road Sunday afternoon. Emergency personnel were dispatched to the scene at 3:13 p.m. The woman was driving a Ford Escape SUV northbound on Scottville Road when she apparently hit a stretch of snow drifted across the road and lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle rolled onto its side and struck a tree in the yard of the residence at 6263 S. Scottville Road. The victim was trapped inside the vehicle and needed to be extricated by fire department personnel. She was transported by ambulance to Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital for what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries.

Emergency units on scene included Riverton Fire Department, Custer Fire Department, Michigan State Police, Michigan Department of Natural Resources law enforcement, Mason County Sheriff’s Office, and Life EMS.

While much of South Scottville Road is currently clear and dry, a portion of the road south of Meisenheimer Road has some drifted snow on it due to northeasterly winds.
