LUDINGTON — George Osdell Teague, 34, of 515 N. Dennis Road, Amber Township, was arraigned Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2021 in 79th District Court on the charge of of emergency telephone service – using for unauthorized, a misdemeanor punishable by up to 180 days imprisonment and/or a $5,000 fine, along with the charge of malicious use of telecommunications services, a misdemeanor punishable by up to six months imprisonment and/or a $1,000 fine.

Teague was arrested by Mason County Sheriff’s Office deputies on Tuesday, Jan. 19 after sheriff’s deputies responded to several calls related to threatening calls being made to numerous officials at the Mason County Courthouse in Ludington.  At the same time, the Mason-Oceana 911 started receiving several obscene and bizarre 911 calls as well.  The calls to both locations were tied to the same phone number.

Sheriff Kim Cole said that between 10:33 and 11:35 a.m. the 911 center received 26 “911” calls which ranged in duration from a few seconds up to a minute.  All calls involved the same caller making vulgar, non-seneschal, and threatening comments.  Similar calls were placed to several employees at the Mason County Courthouse. 

Teague was found walking on North Dennis Road between Johnson and Hansen roads about noon on Tuesday and was taken into custody without incident, Cole said.  

Bail was set at $2,500, personal recognizance for the telecommunications charge and $2,500 cash/surety/10% cash. A pretrial hearing in district court is scheduled for Feb. 1 at 10:15 a.m. Teague remains lodged in the Mason County Jail.
