The following is recent police activity in Mason County:

Thursday, Dec. 31, 2020:

  • 6:15 pm., (Mason County Sheriff’s Office), car/deer crash, no injury, US 31 north of Sugar Grove Road, Sherman Township.
  • 7:16 p.m., (Ludington Police Department), a 34-year-old Scottville man was arrested for disorderly conduct after walking  into a person’s home without permission, 200 block of East Second Street, City of Ludington. The man was under the influence of drugs and did not know the residents of the home he entered, said Cpt. Steve Wietrzykowski. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.

Friday, Jan. 1, 2021:

  • 2:08 a.m., (MCSO), vehicle slide-off, no damage/no injury, Fountain and Angling roads, Victory Township.
  • 4:31 a.m., (LPD), a 45-year-old Ludington man was arrested on two outstanding Manistee-area misdemeanor warrants and one misdemeanor warrant out of Hart, 600 block of East Danaher Street, City of Ludington. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
  • 7:48 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Millerton Road east of Larson Road, Sheridan Township.
  • 4:02 p.m., (MCSO), a 31-year-old Newaygo man was arrested on an outstanding misdemeanor warrant out of Newaygo County following a traffic stop, US 10 east of Brye Road, Amber Township.
  • 7 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Scottville Road north of Conrad Road, Custer Township.

Saturday, Jan. 2, 2021:

  • 1:54 a.m., (LPD), a 33-year-old Ludington man was arrested for malicious destruction of property, 200 block of East Second Street, City of Ludington.He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
  • 5:58 a.m., (MCSO), one-vehicle rollover crash, no injury, Forest Trail and Quarterline roads, Grant Township.
  • 2:49 p.m., (MCSO), one-vehicle crash, no injury, Rasmussen Road east of Bertha Road, Pere Marquette Township.
  • 4:03 p.m., (LPD), a 55-year-old man (hometown unavailable) was arrested on an outstanding Mason County bench warrant for failure to appear, 500 block of East Lake Street, City of Ludington. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail. 
  • 5:06 p.m., (MCSO), one-vehicle rollover crash, no injury, Fountain Road west of Tuttle Road, Sherman Township.
  • 6:12 p.m., (MCSO), one-vehicle crash, no injury, Quarterline Road north of White Road, Grant Township.
  • 6:40 p.m., (MCSO), vehicle slide-off, no damage/no injury, Michigan and Manistee streets, Village of Free Soil.
  • 6:50 p.m., (Michigan State Police), a 26-year-old Fountain man was arrested for operating while intoxicated, US 10 and Benson Road, Branch Township.

Sunday, Jan. 3, 2021:

  • 4:20 p.m., (MCSO), a 28-year-old Ludington man was arrested for domestic violence following a 911 call reporting an assault, 3100 block of West Kinney Road, Riverton Township.

Monday, Jan. 4, 2021:

  • 2:02 a.m., (LPD), a 34-year-old Ludington man was arrested for trespassing and for violating 79th District Court bond conditions, Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital, City of Ludington. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
