West Shore Bank Spirit of Giving distributes over 1,000 meals.

LUDINGTON —  West Shore Bank’s 12th annual Spirit of Giving fundraiser recently raised enough funds to distribute 1,046 Christmas meals to food pantries in Mason, Oceana, Manistee, and Benzie counties.

Throughout the month of November, West Shore Bank collected funds from employees and the local community totaling $13,383.25. The bank’s 2020 goal was to raise enough money for 900 meals.

Fundraising efforts for the Spirit of Giving campaign are made possible with the partnership of Shop-N-Save in Ludington, Hansen Foods in Hart, Family Fare in Manistee and Shop-N-Save in Benzonia. Arrangements were made and coordinated with each grocery partner to purchase a complete meal at a special pre-determined price and meals are distributed through local food pantries.

“We are delighted to have surpassed our goal of 900 meals for this year’s Christmas meal fundraiser. In a year that has been trying and ever-changing, we are humbled to see that our communities continue to support this meaningful campaign and have stepped up to make an even bigger impact this Christmas,” said Raymond Biggs, president and CEO of West Shore Bank. “Each year, West Shore Bank’s employees truly look forward to contributing to our ‘Spirit of Giving’ efforts and the Bank commits to matching a set number of funds raised in each county. We’d like to sincerely thank our partners and community for continuing to make a difference with their support these past 12 years.”
