The following is recent police activity in Mason County:

Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2020:

– 4:10 a.m., (Mason County Sheriff’s Office), car/deer crash, no injury, US 31 near North Scottville Road, Amber Township.

– 7:50 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Jebavy Drive north of Fisher Road, Hamlin Township.

– 7:57 a.m., (MCSO), failure to report a crash, Chauvez Road east of Brye Road, Riverton Township. A report was forwarded to the Mason County Prosecutor’s Office after deputies responded to a one-vehicle crash. The investigation found a 51-year-old Scottville man and run off the road after reportedly swerving to miss a deer. He reportedly left the scene and reported the crash several hours later.

– 8:35 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, US 31 freeway north of Oceana Drive, Summit Township.

– 5:41 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Fountain Road west of Dennis Raod, Victory Township.

Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2020:

– 12:30 a.m., (Michigan State Police), an 18-year-old Manistee woman was cited for violating a temporary driving permit, northbound US 31 near West Forest Trail, Free Soil Township.

– 3:19 a.m., (MSP), a 16-year-old Shelby boy was cited for operating without license, First Street near Pere Marquette Highway, Pere Marquette Township.
