Coronavirus Relief Fund services available through Dec. 30

SCOTTVILLE — FiveCAP, Inc. is accepting applications from low-income residents navigating through the challenges brought on by COVID-19. The Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act and Coronavirus Relief Fund (CRF) programs have been made available to help low-income households stay on course in these turbulent times. 

CRF programs are available until Dec. 30, through FiveCAP, Inc., along with funding made available through Community Service Block Grant (CSBG), to tackle a growing need for basic assistance such as food, shelter, utilities and general well-being as unemployment and other hardships due to COVID-19 increase. 

These funds support a variety of services for low-income households at or below 200 percent of the Federal Poverty Guidelines, including: Emergency shelter assistance available for rent and mortgage payments; utility bill and heating help; interim plumbing, well and septic repair and replacement assistance. 

Internet connectivity is necessary for health, education, and employment. FiveCAP has received a Digital Divide Coronavirus Relief Grant. Assistance is accessible for technology devices and a 12-month subscription to local internet. 

Migrant and farm workers unable to work because they have been isolated or quarantined can receive assistance up to $1,000 after 10 or 14 days of lost wages.
