Johnson hired as president of Sparrow Eaton Hospital. 

CHARLOTTE — Helen Johnson, former chief operating officer of Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital, has been hired as the new president of Sparrow Eaton Hospital in Eaton County, effective Jan. 1, 2021. 

Johnson was at the Ludington hospital for 15 years, initially serving as a nursing supervisor, then as chief nursing officer and more recently chief operating officer since 2018.

Johnson earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Northern Michigan University and a master’s degree in nursing from the University of Phoenix. Prior to joining Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital, she worked in a variety of nursing management roles in several northern Michigan hospitals. 

n 2012 she earned fellow status in the American College of Healthcare Executives and earned Nursing Executive Advanced Board Certification through the American Nursing Credentialing Center (ANCC).
