Sheriff’s office investigates ‘under ringing’ at Walmart.

PERE MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP — A police report will be forwarded to the Mason County Prosecutor’s Office following an investigation between the Mason County Sheriff’s Office and Walmart Loss Prevention related to “under ringing” of merchandise at the Ludington area store on West US 10, said Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.

The retail fraud/shoplifting incident was reported Wednesday, Sept. 16, shortly after 1:30 p.m. ‘Under ringing’ typically involves scanning in cheaper items for more expensive items in the self check-out lane.

The following is other police activity in Mason County Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2020:

– 3:57 p.m., (Ludington Police Department), a ​51-year-old Ludington man was arrested for disorderly conduct/public intoxication, 300 block of West Filer Street, City of Ludington.

​- 5:07 p.m., (MCSO), alarm activation, Pere Marquette Township.

– 5:35 p.m., (MCSO), bond violation, 6800 block of East Millerton Road, Sheridan Township. A report will be forwarded to the courts regarding an alleged bond violation involving a 45-year-old Shelby woman.

– 8:16 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Fountain Road west of Dennis Road, Victory Township.

– 10:25 p.m., (MCSO), a 48-year-old Branch man was cited for driving while license suspended (DWLS) following a traffic stop, US 10 and Dennis Road, Amber Township.
