Scooter driver injured following US 10 crash.

CUSTER — A 32-year-old Ludington man driving a motorized scooter was injured following a crash on US 10 Monday afternoon. The man was driving a Honda scooter westbound in the 1900 block of US 10, east of Tuttle Road, when he supposedly struck a parked vehicle and trailer. The trailer was parked on the shoulder of the road while its owner was mowing a nearby lawn. The scooter traveled up the trailer’s ramps and the driver flipped over the parked Honda CRV landing about 50 feet beyond it. The scooter driver, who was conscious and alert on scene, was transported by ambulance to Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital. He reportedly was wearing a helmet at the time of the incident.

Emergency personnel were dispatched to the scene at 12:08 p.m. Responding units included Mason County Sheriff’s Office, Scottville Police Department, Custer Fire Department and Life EMS.
