LUDINGTON — The Mason County Sheriff’s Office hosted a presentation today showing the public the new protective gear that was recently donated to the sheriff’s office and Scottville Police Department. Private donations through a campaign called “Adopt-A-Cop” raised $31,250 to purchase the equipment. The campaign was launched by Chuck Wagon Pizza owner Rick Chapman, who recently passed away. The campaign was spearheaded by Vic Burwell and Dr. William Anderson.

The equipment, which included the purchase of 23 sets of Angel Armor rifle rated front and back plates sold by Shield 616 of Colorado Springs, Colo.
