2 injured following Custer crash; Aeromed dispatched.

CUSTER — Two people were injured in a two vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon on US 10 in the village. The crash occurred about 3:30 p.m. in front of the Custer Village Hall/Fire Station and involved a Chevrolet Cruze, driven by a 26-year-old Scottville area woman, and a Ford E350 Super Duty van, driven by a male (age and residence was not immediately available). The crash appeared to be head-on.

Emergency personnel were dispatched to the scene at 3:37 p.m. and included Michigan State Police, Mason County Sheriff’s Office, Scottville Police Department, Custer Fire Department, and Life EMS.

The female victim was trapped inside her vehicle, which required extrication equipment to remove her. Both victims were transported To Spectrum Health Spectrum Hospital by ambulance. The female victim was then transported to Munson Medical Center in Traverse City by Aeromed.

The crash remains under investigation. More information will be posted when it becomes available.
