Scottville man killed in motorcycle/Jeep crash.

AMBER TOWNSHIP — A 43-year-old Scottville man died in a motorcycle/Jeep crash Saturday, July 18, shortly before 1:30 p.m. at the intersection of Dennis and Johnson roads, according to Michigan State Police Sgt. Dan Thomas.

The motorcyclist, who was wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene, Thomas said.

The 2009 Jeep Wrangler was driven by a 68-year-old Ludington man. A 68-year-old Ludington woman was a passenger in the Jeep. Neither were injured, Thomas said.

The motorcycle was northbound on Dennis Road and struck the Jeep that was traveling west. The Jeep stopped at the signed intersection prior to the collision, the sergeant said.

The crash remains under investigation pending traffic reconstruction and blood test results, Thomas said. MSP is not releasing the names of the individuals involved at this time.

Emergency units responding to the scene included MSP, Mason County Sheriff’s Office, Pere Marquette Township Fire Department, Ludington Fire Department, and Life EMS.
