PERE MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP — Three people were injured in a two-vehicle rear-end crash at the intersection of Jebavy Drive and Rasmussen Road Friday, July 10, shortly after 3 p.m., according to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.

A 73-year-old Defiance, Ohio man and his 72-year-old female passenger were both injured after the vehicle the man was operating rear-ended a vehicle driven by a 17-year-old Springboro, Ohio woman who was also injured in the crash, Cole said. All three were transported to Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

  • 12:11 p.m., (Mason County Sheriff’s Office), a 46-year-old Scottville man was arrested for domestic assault following a 911 call reporting an assault, 3800 block of North US 31, Victory Township.
  • 12:52 p.m., (MCSO), two-vehicle crash, no injury, US 10 west of Dennis Road, Amber Township.
  • 4:44 p.m., (MCSO), gas drive-off, $20 in fuel stolen, 5500 block of West US 10, Ludington Express Mart, Pere Marquette Township.
  • 4:55 p.m., (MCSO), home invasion/assault, 6900 block of East Millerton Road, Sheridan Township. (An update will be provided when more information is available.)
  • 7:20 p.m., (MCSO), one-vehicle crash, no injury, US 31 Freeway south of the Pere Marquette Highway overpass, Summit Township.
  • 7:45 p.m., (Michigan State Police), medical assist, 6000 block of US 10, Branch Township.

Saturday, July 11, 2020:

  • 7:58 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Pere Marquette Highway north of Lenz Road, Pere Marquette Township.
  • 12:27 p.m., (MCSO), motorcycle/deer crash, Jebavy Drive north of Angling Road, Hamlin Township. A 56-year-old Indianapolis, Indiana man was treated at the scene after the motorcycle he was operating was struck by a deer. The deer ran into the side of the bike.
  • 3:58 p.m., (MSP), one-vehicle crash, no injuries, Morton and Meisenheimer roads, Riverton Township.
  • 5:15 p.m., (MCSO), a 67-year-old Scottville man was cited for open container and refusing to submit to a preliminary breath test, 400 block of West Third Street, City of Scottville. A report will also be forwarded to the court regarding a possible probation violation for consumption of alcohol while on probation.
  • 10:30 p.m., (MSP), car/deer crash, Custer Road near Fountain Road, Sherman Township.

Sunday, July 12, 2020:

  • 1 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Inman Road south of Iris Road, Pere Marquette Township.
  • 5:52 a.m., (MCSO), a 35-year-old Lansing man was arrested on a charge of driving while license suspended and an outstanding Michigan Department of Corrections warrant for parole absconder and his passenger, a 35-year-old Ionia woman, was arrested for possession of analogues, Mancino’s parking lot, 5500 block of West US 10, Pere Marquette Township. Both remain lodged in the Mason County Jail.
  • 6:18 a.m., (MCSO), alarm activation, Grant Township.
  • 1:19 p.m., (MCSO), a 58-year-old Ludington man was arrested for third-offense operating while intoxicated following a traffic stop, Sherman Road north of Decker Road, Hamlin Township.
  • 3 p.m., (MSP), malicious destruction of farmland, Decker Road near Taylor Road, Sheridan Township. The incident, which occurred some time between 3 and 7:40 p.m., is under investigation.
