Felonious assault tops recent arraignments

LUDINGTON — The following were recently arraigned in Mason County’s 79th District Court:

Felonies

Latimer

-DeShawn Erik Latimer, 33, of 2481 W. 44th St., Baldwin, was arrested June 12 by the Mason County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) on a felony charge of assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder. Probable cause hearing: June 24 at 2 p.m. Bail: $10,000 cash/surety.

Janiga

-Carla Rae Janiga, 50, of 8067 Bristol St., Westland, Mich., was arrested June 16 by the State, Sheriffs, Chiefs Enforcement Narcotics Team (SSCENT) on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine/ecstasy). Probable cause hearing: June 24 at 2:15 p.m. Bail: $5,000 personal recognizance. 

Misdemeanors

-Jessica Nicole Shepard, 38, of 4460 W. Hansen Rd., Amber Township; June 11; Mason County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO); assault and battery. Pretrial: June 15 at 10:15 a.m. Bail: $2,500 personal recognizance.

-Douglas Carl Elvis Aaron Benavides, 27, of 503 N. Rath Ave., Apt. 2, Ludington; June 17; Ludington Police Department (LPD); assault and battery. Pretrial: June 22 at 9 a.m. Bail: $2,500/10 percent.

-Adam Lee Passarelli, 31, of 1710 Manz, Muskegon; June 16; MCSO; assault and battery. Pretrial: June 29 at 10 a.m. Bail: $2,500/10 percent.
