Library to begin curbside service.

The Mason County District Library will begin curbside service on Monday, June 15 with other services beginning as soon as safety permits. The library has branches in Ludington and Scottville.

To take advantage of Curbside Service, library staff asks that requests be made through the library’s online catalog at www.masoncounty.lib.mi.us. Go to the My Account Login tab to find the MCDL’s catalog. Once on the catalog page patrons will need to login at top left corner to make a request. They will need their library card number and personal identification number (PIN) in order to make requests. Those who do not know their library card number or PIN can email librarian@mcdlibrary.org.  Once  logged in patrons can browse/search then request an item by selecting (clicking anywhere in the line with that title) that item, then clicking the first button on the left: Reserve this item.  Once Reserve This Item is clicked a second dialog box will pop up and patrons will click Place Reserve to complete the request. Right now there is a limit of six items.

After a request has been made, library staff will notify when items are ready for pickup. Upon arrival at the library, park in one of the designated Curbside Delivery parking spots and call 231-843-8465 in Ludington, 231-757-2588 in Scottville, or text Gabbie, the library’s messaging service, at 231-244-1128. Library staff will then deliver items to the car. Open hours for Curbside Delivery are 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. Additional hours will be added at a later time.

Following COVID-19 guidelines, library staff will wear masks while inside the buildings at Ludington and Scottville; including while handling  library materials. Incoming materials will be quarantined for at least 24 hours, as recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and the American Library Association.  All surfaces and commonly touched items will be cleaned and disinfected regularly. Staff will wash hands frequently and thoroughly.
