LUDINGTON — A 43-year-old Ludington man with a long criminal history faces 15-40 years in prison after pleading guilty Tuesday, June 9, in 51st Circuit Court to one count of delivery/manufacture of 50-450 grams of cocaine, two counts of delivery/manufacture of cocaine less than 50 grams and third-offense habitual offender.

Anthony Earl Green, of 106 Second St., was arrested Jan. 16 by the State, Sheriffs and Chiefs Enforcement of Narcotic Team (SSCENT). Green initially faced five felony counts of cocaine delivery, one high-court misdemeanor of maintaining a drug house and fourth-offense habitual offender.

Green’s other charges will be dismissed in exchange for his plea. His habitual offender status elevated his maximum possible sentence to life in prison, said Mason County Prosecutor Paul Spaniola.

Green appeared in court via Zoom videoconferencing with his attorney John Beason due to COVID-19. He is currently free on bond.

The plea agreement calls for a prison sentence of 180-480 months. He will also be required to pay restitution of $4,875 to SSCENT, Spaniola said. The dollar amount represents the amount of money he received for selling the cocaine. Spaniola said Green sold 56 grams of cocaine in connection to his most serious conviction.

Sentencing guidelines in the case are 99-240 months.

According to the Offender Tracking Information System (OTIS), Green served previous prison terms for Mason County convictions of prisoner in possession of contraband, delivery/manufacture of cocaine less than 50 grams, delivery/manufacture of marijuana and assault with a dangerous weapon.

Sentencing is scheduled for Aug. 11 at 1:15 p.m.
