MCC to offer summer meal program.

SCOTTVILLE — Mason County Central Schools Food Service will transition to the Summer Food Service Program beginning Monday, June 8 through Friday, Aug. 14, 2020.

The meals include breakfasts and lunches and are free to all children ages 18 and younger and will be distributed Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays with servings available for all days of the week (Monday pickup is for Monday, Tuesday meals, Wednesday pickup is for Wednesday, Thursday; Friday pickup for Friday, Saturday, Sunday). Weekend meals need to be ordered on Wednesdays.

The program is similar to the meal distribution that has been happening since the schools were closed on March 16, but is coordinated through different funding sources, consistent with meal distributions that take place each summer.

Distribution centers will be closed July 3 with no weekend meals for July 4 and 5.

The schedule is as follows:

  • MCC Upper Elementary, 505 W. Maple St., 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.
  • Legends Taxidermy, 5089 N. US 31, Victory Township, 11 to 11:30 a.m.
  • Branch Township Fire Department, 6696 E. US 10, Walhalla, 11 to 11:30 a.m.
  • St. Paul Methodist Church, 3212 W. Kinney Rd., Riverton Township, 11 to 11:30 a.m.
