BRANCH TOWNSHIP — A 58-year-old Walhalla man was arrested on charges of operating while intoxicated and fleeing and eluding after he attempted to outrun a Mason County sheriff’s deputy on an ORV Sunday, May 31, shortly after 1:30 p.m., said Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.

The incident occurred in the vicinity of South Walhalla Road and US 10, Cole said. “The pursuit went for about a half mile before the suspect went off road, down a two-track,” Cole said.

– 6:20 a.m., (Mason County Sheriff’s Ofice), car/deer crash, no injury, Sugar Grove Road west of Reek Road, Sherman Township.

– 11:55 a.m., (Michigan State Police), a 21-year-old Lowell man was arrested for operating while intoxicated, Amber Road near First Street, Amber Township.

– 1:15 p.m., (MCSO), fraud, Hamlin Township. The complainant reported that $2,100 in cash advanced checks were written against their account.

– 2:07 p.m., (MSP), two-vehicle crash, no injuries, Pere Marquette Highway near US 10, Pere Marquette Township.

– 9:20 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Jebavy Drive north of Fisher Road, Hamlin Township.

Saturday, May 30, 2020:

– 7:20 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, US 31 freeway near the Meisenheimer Road overpass, Summit Township.

– 8:40 a.m., (MSP), two-vehicle crash, no injuries, US 10 near Pere Marquette Highway, Pere Marquette Township.

– 10:19 a.m., (MCSO), damaged property, broken windows at a residence, 6200 block of East US 10, Branch Township. The complainant reported two windows were broken at their residence.

– 12:16 p.m., (MCSO), two-vehicle crash, no injury, US 10 and Pere Marquette Highway, Pere Marquette Township.

Sunday, May 31, 2020:

– 12:28 p.m., (MCSO), two-vehicle crash, no injury, Custer and Wilson roads, Custer Township.

– 9:30 p.m., (MSP), car/deer crash, US 31 near Chauvez Road, Pere Marquette Township.
