Man allegedly chokes woman, tries to hit her with vehicle while camping.

BRANCH TOWNSHIP — A warrant is being sought for a 32-year-old Holton man who allegedly choked a woman unconscious Friday, May 29, around 2:30 p.m. while they were camping in the area of Landon Road near Barothy Road, said Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.

The Mason County Sheriff’s Office is seeking a felony charge of assault by strangulation. The man also reportedly attempted to strike the woman with his vehicle before fleeing the area, said Sheriff Cole. “The suspect fled the area, and a warrant is being requested for him through the Mason County Prosecutor’s Office.”

Cole said the pair has been in a dating a relationship.
