EDEN TOWNSHIP — A 16-year-old Walhalla girl reportedly grabbed a Mason County sheriff’s deputy by the throat with both hands during her arrest for operating with a high blood alcohol content Saturday, May 9, shortly after 7:10 p.m. on Indian Trail north of Hawley Road, according to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.

The assault caused scratches on the deputy’s neck, Sheriff Cole said.

The girl was arrested after crashing her vehicle into a tree, and she was also charged with resisting arrest. Her blood alcohol level was .22, Cole said.
