Fire destroys Branch Township mobile home.

BRANCH TOWNSHIP — Fire destroyed a mobile home late Friday evening at 8963 E. Decker Road. Branch Fire Department and Custer Fire Department were initially dispatched at 11:46 p.m. Fire Chief Steve McVicker said the mobile home (which was actually two mobile homes attached to each other) was completely engulfed in flames when the first fire truck arrived on scene. He said the owner said he believed a wood stove caused the fire.

McVicker said the place was retreat for the owner who is a Mason County resident.

Fountain Area Fire Department and Carr Fire Department were also called to assist.

McVicker said the fire was knocked down within 20 minutes but the trailers were destroyed. Firefighters cleared the scene about 2:30 a.m.

No one was injured.
