Police investigate shoplifting at Walmart.

PERE MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP — The Mason County Sheriff’s Office and the Hart post of the Michigan State Police investigated three separate cases of shoplifting at Walmart Wednesday, April 15.

The sheriff’s office investigated two retail fraud complaints. The first one was shortly before 3 p.m., which resulted in a report being forwarded to the Mason County Prosecutor’s Office involving a 48-year-old Mears man, said Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole. The second one was shortly after 6 p.m., and a report is being forwarded to the prosecutor’s office involving a 43-year-old Ludington woman. Walmart Loss Prevention staff were also involved in the investigation of both cases.

The state police handled a shoplifting complaint at Walmart at 8:20 p.m.

– 9:52 p.m., (MCSO), alarm activation, Custer Township.
