2 Manistee police officers diagnosed with COVID-19; 4 others quarantined.

MANISTEE — Two Manistee Police Department officers have tested positive for COVID-19 virus. According to Timothy Kozal, director of public safety, four additional officers have been quarantined by order of District Health Department No. 10. 

“The Police Department is working closely with the District Health Department,” Kozal said. “At this time, we have reached out to all potential exposure risks.

“The Manistee City Police Department remains vigilant. We are here to serve and respond to community needs.”

Kozal said Manistee County Sheriff’s Office, Michigan State Police and Little River Band Ottawa Indians Tribal Police are working with the Manistee Police Department during this time.  

“The Manistee Police Department wishes to remind everyone of the governor’s order to stay home.  The disease can hit anyone. We are all in this together. We are grateful to have the support of the community.”
