Republic Services announces service changes.

Republic Services refuse hauler has announced that it is making some service changes during the duration of Gov. Whitmer’s executive order’s related to the COVID-19 crisis. Republic Waste has service contracts with the cities of Ludington and Scottville and Pere Marquette Charter Township.

Service changes for curbside pickup include:

  • Drivers will not be authorized to leave their vehicle to pick up waste outside the cart. Republic will accept cart contents only.
  • For customers who do not have carted service, Republic will accept waste placed in bags only. Bags cannot exceed 50 pounds.
  • Bulk waste programs will be suspended.
  • Alternative disposal methods may need to be used if there are disruptions to recycling processing capabilities or if recycling contamination increases. Keep waste out of recycling containers.
