Gus Macker charity funding apps being accepted. 

PERE MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP — The Ludington & Scottville Area Chamber of Commerce is accepting charity funding applications for the 2020 Gus Macker 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament, scheduled for June 20 and 21 at Stearns Park in Ludington. Applications are due Tuesday, April 21 and can be downloaded from www.ludington.org or picked up from the chamber office, 5300 W. US 10. 

Requests for funds will be reviewed and chosen by the Gus Macker charity selection committee, which will take into consideration the impact of the project/organization on the local communities. The amount of money awarded to the designated charities or non-profit organizations will be dependent on the profitability of the overall tournament and the amount of volunteer effort provided by the charity.

In 2019, concession proceeds and donations totaled $27,500.

The annual Gus Macker tournament will be played on approximately 50 basketball courts set up to accommodate approximately 3,500 players on Lakeshore Drive and Stearns Outer Drive. Registration will open soon at macker.com/ludington-mi/
