PERE MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP — A 59-year-old Ludington man was arrested for operating with a high blood alcohol content (BAC) and fleeing and eluding police after allegedly driving the wrong way on US 31 and fleeing from police Sunday, Dec. 22, at 10 p.m., according to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.’

The man was arrested “following several 911 calls reporting a vehicle driving northbound in the southbound lanes of the US 31 freeway,” Cole said. “A deputy spotted the vehicle and attempted a traffic stop but the vehicle reportedly refused to stop. The deputy chased the suspect northbound into Amber Township — about two miles — before the vehicle lost control and ran into the median.”
