79th District Court sentencings, posted Nov. 7, 2019.

LUDINGTON — The following were recently sentenced in Mason County’s 79th District Court:-Trevor James Coon, 26, of 109 E. Foster St., Ludington, pleaded guilty Nov. 5 to operating a vehicle while impaired by a controlled substance and was sentenced to 50 days in jail with credit for 50 days served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must attend victim’s impact panel; must follow probation officer’s requirements; no drugs/alcohol; subject to random PBTs and drug tests; and $1,095 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to Secretary of State (SOS). A charge of disobeying a stop sign was dismissed.

-Shannon George Courtland, 30, of 2190 N. LaSalle Rd., Victory Township, pleaded guilty Nov. 5 to operating a vehicle while impaired by liquor (OUIL) and was sentenced to 34 days in jail with credit for 34 days served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must obtain Soberlink for 90 days; must attend Victim’s Impact Panel; no drugs/alcohol/marijuana; subject to random PBTs and drug tests; must complete substance use disorder program; and $1,095 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to SOS. Charges of operating a vehicle without insurance and operating an unregistered vehicle were dismissed.

-Spencer Wade Grimm, 25, of 1727 Beidler St., Muskegon, pleaded guilty Nov. 5 to operating a vehicle with a high blood alcohol content and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 180 days discretionary jail for one year; must attend victim’s impact panel; no drugs/alcohol/marijuana; subject to random PBTs and drug tests; must continue current counseling program; and $1,195 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to SOS. Charges of reckless driving and transporting an open intoxicant in a vehicle were dismissed.

-Caeden Scott Price, 20, of 10982 N. Turner Rd., Irons, pleaded guilty Nov. 5 to OUIL and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must attend victim’s impact panel; must obtain substance use disorder counseling; no drugs/alcohol/marijuana; must obtain Soberlink for six months; subject to random PBTs and drug tests; and $995 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to SOS. A charge of refusing a preliminary breath test was dismissed.

-Kevin James Kaiser, 26, of 5060 Wayne Rd., Pentwater, pleaded guilty Oct. 29 to domestic violence and was sentenced to three days in jail with credit for three days served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must have a substance abuse evaluation; and $795 in fines/costs. 

-James Allen Rose, 40, of 920 N. Harrison St., Ludington, pleaded guilty Nov. 5 to disorderly person jostling and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 90 days discretionary jail for one year; must have domestic violence evaluation; and $435 in fines/costs.

-John Wayne Mulligan, II, 28, of 2129 W. Dewey Rd., Victory Township, pleaded guilty Nov. 5 to hunting/possessing game while ineligible for a license and was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served; 180 days discretionary jail for two years; hunting privileges suspended for three years and $1,010 in fines/costs. A charge of general violation of wildlife conservation was dismissed.

-Myra Mae Peterson, 38, of 5751 Barton Rd., Pere Marquette Township, pleaded guilty Nov. 5 to disorderly person disturbing the peace and attempted third degree retail fraud. She was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 90 days discretionary jail for one year; and $633.92 in fines/costs/restitution. She was also fined $225 for a civil infraction of careless driving. Charges of improper plates, receiving and concealing stolen property, reckless driving and operating without insurance were dismissed.
