79th District Court sentencings, posted Sept. 19, 2019.

LUDINGTON — The following were recently sentenced in Mason County’s 79th District Court:

-Lance Leroy Christensen, 76, of 1535 W. US 10, Amber Township, pleaded guilty Sept. 16 to operating an ORV while impaired and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; no drugs/alcohol; ORV privileges suspended for 90 days; must continue current counseling program; and $870 in fines/costs. Charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated (OWI) and transporting an open intoxicant were dismissed. 

-James Albert Howard, 56, of 3547 W. 12th St., Baldwin, was found guilty on Sept. 13 of operating a vehicle while impaired by a controlled substance and was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; no controlled substances without a prescription; must continue current counseling program; and $870 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to Secretary of State (SOS).

-Jacob Riley Odekirk, 26, of 2800 N. Peterson Rd., Victory Township, pleaded guilty Sept. 10 to driving while license suspended (DWLS) and was sentenced to six days in jail with credit for six days served; 90 days discretionary jail for one year; and $285 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to SOS. 

-Ronald William Klemm, 67, of 3021 W. VanBuren Rd., Hart, pleaded guilty Sept. 9 to OWI and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must obtain Soberlink for 60 days; no drugs/alcohol; subject to random PBTs; must obtain substance abuse counseling; and $1,095 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to SOS.

-Rachel Carol Ann Hills, 28, of 6245 S. Broadway, Idlewild, pleaded guilty Sept. 10 to third degree retail fraud and was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail for one year; $37.85 in restitution; and $595 in fines/costs.

-Deborah Jean DelZoppo, 61, of 6455 Iris Rd., Pere Marquette Township, pleaded guilty Sept. 10 to operating a marine vessel while impaired and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must attend victim’s impact panel; must complete alcohol highway safety education; and $895 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to SOS.

-Gregory Lee Heglund, 56, of 2584 W. Groth Rd., Victory Township, pleaded guilty Sept. 11 to DWLS and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; one year discretionary jail for two years; must obtain Soberlink for one year; no drugs/alcohol/marijuana; subject to random PBTs; and $995 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to SOS. A felony charge of third offense operating under the influence of liquor was dismissed.

-Jason Lee Puckett, 42, of 389 12th St., Manistee, pleaded guilty Sept. 10 to failure to maintain security (no vehicle insurance) and was sentenced to one year discretionary jail for one year and $410 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to SOS.

-Drew Percy Amy, 29, of 2768 N. US 31, Sherman Township, pleaded guilty Sept. 10 to failure to maintain security (no vehicle insurance) and was sentenced to one year discretionary jail for one year and $410 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to SOS.

 

Dismissals

-Terry Warren Carr, 66, of 1058 N. Lancer Ln., Pere Marquette Township, had a charge of harboring felons dismissed without prejudice on Sept. 12. According to court records, “People are unable to prove the charged offense at this time.”
