Victim receives minor injuries following stabbing; 1 arrested.

HAMLIN TOWNSHIP — A 31-year-old Hamlin Township woman was stabbed early Sunday morning at a residence in the 6600 block of West Basswood Street, between Tamarack Road and Walnut Street (north of Victory Drive). Emergency personnel were called to the scene at 12:42 a.m. According to Michigan State Police Lt. Matt Kanitz of the Hart Post, the incident was a dispute between neighbors. The unidentified victim received minor injuries. Kanitz said a 47-year-old Ludington woman was arrested and lodged at the Mason County Jail. She has been charged with felonious assault and aggravated domestic assault.

Apparently alcohol may have been a factor in the incident.

Emergency units responding included Michigan State Police, Mason County Sheriff’s Office, Ludington Police Department Hamlin Township Fire Department, and Life EMS.

More details will be released when they become available.
