Vehicle crashes into building at Kings Corner.

VICTORY TOWNSHIP — A vehicle crashed into a storage building adjacent to the Kings Corner store at the southwest corner of US 31 and Fountain Road early Sunday evening, Sept. 1, 2019. According to Mason County Sheriff Sgt. Mike Fort, a Dodge Durango driven by a 61-year-old Twin Lake woman, was southbound on US 31 following a southbound Subaru driven by a 17-year-old Ada male, when the Subaru signaled it was going to make a turn at Fountain Road.

Fort said the driver of the Durango said she thought the Subaru driver had signaled he was turning left (east), so she proceeded to pass the Subaru on the right but the Subaru then turned right (west), causing the Durango to strike the storage building on the north side of the store. Fort said the driver of the Subaru, incidentally, was on his way to the hospital as a result of a fish hook that had gotten hooked in his nose.

Neither of the drivers were injured as a result of the crash. The storage building and the main building did suffer damage. Fort said the driver of the Subaru refused treatment by EMS personnel on the scene and friends from a separate vehicle proceeded to transport him to the hospital for extrication of the fish hook.

Emergency units responding included Mason County Sheriff’s Office, Fountain Area Fire Department, and Life EMS. The crash occurred at 7:23 p.m.
