Law enforcement, schools to hold active assailant training.

SCOTTVILLE — The Mason County Sheriff’s Office will be leading an active assailant training on Wednesday, Aug. 28, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Mason County Central Upper Elementary School. The closed training will include all MCSO road patrol deputies, faculty and staff from MCC and Mason County Eastern schools, Ludington Police Department officers and Scottville Police Department officers.

For a 24 period surrounding the training day, the Michigan State Police will have additional road patrol troopers on duty in Mason County to cover for the sheriff’s deputies at the training, according to Sheriff Kim Cole.
