3 ticketed for swimming outside swim zone.

LUDINGTON – Three out-of-town visitors were cited by Ludington police for swimming outside the designated swim zone in Lake Michigan at Stearns Park beach Thursday, Aug. 1, around 6:30 p.m., according to the Ludington Police Department.

Receiving tickets were a 33-year-old Mount Pleasant man, a 35-year-old Mount Pleasant woman and a 38-year-old Albuquerque, New Mexico woman.

Other police activity in Mason County Thursday, Aug. 1, 2019 includes:

– 10:44 a.m., (Mason County Sheriff’s Office), car/deer crash, no injury, Custer Road south of Millerton Road, Sherman Township.

– 1 p.m., (Michigan State Police), assault and battery reported from an earlier incident, 1500 block of Tyndall Road, Branch Township.

– 1:15 p.m., (MSP), two-vehicle crash, no injuries, US 10 in front Lowe’s Home Improvement store, Amber Township.

– 2 p.m., (MSP), three-vehicle crash, minor injuries, Dennis and Johnson roads, Amber Township.

– 7 p.m., (LPD), a 59-year-old Ludington woman was arrested for domestic assault, 200 block of East Melendy Street, City of Ludington.

– 9:10 p.m., (LPD), a 61-year-old Ludington woman was arrested for operating a boat while intoxicated, Loomis Street boat launch, City of Ludington.

– 9:27 p.m., (MSP), a 48-year-old Custer man was arrested for domestic assault, Madison Avenue, Custer Township.

– 11:21 p.m., (MCSO), warrant arrest, 100 block of North Jebavy Drive, Pere Marquette Township. A 38-year-old Ludington man was arrested on an outstanding Mason County warrant following a reported disturbance at an apartment.
