Beach hazard issued, breakwater remains closed.

The National Weather Service has issued a beach hazard advisory effective until 1 a.m. Tuesday, July 30. As a result, and as a result of current deteriorating wind and lake conditions, the north breakwater in Ludington has been closed to pedestrian traffic. Over the past two weeks, during breakwater closures, the Ludington Police Department has issued multiple tickets.

High wave action is expected along with strong structural and longshore currents. Rip currents are also possible. People should avoid swimming!

Thunderstorms are forecasted tonight and Saturday.
