Woman falls asleep at the wheel, hits tree.

SHERMAN TOWNSHIP – A 67-year-old Fountain woman was injured after she reportedly fell asleep at the wheel, left the road and struck a tree Tuesday, July 23, at 1:43 p.m. on Custer north of Fountain Road, according to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.

“She was treated at Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital for serious but non-life-threatening injuries,” Cole said.

Tuesday, July 23, 2019:

– 11:31 a.m., (MCSO), larceny of tools from a vehicle, 3000 block of North Tuttle Road, Sherman Township. Numerous tools and two chainsaws stolen were from a vehicle during the night.

– 2:39 p.m., (MCSO), domestic violence, 1100 block of Brandy Lane, Pere Marquette Township. A 20-year-old Ludington man was arrested following a 911 call reporting an assault.

– 10:36 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Stiles Road south of Beyer Road, Victory Township.

– 1:39 p.m., (MCSO), two-vehicle crash, no injury, Pere Marquette Highway south of US 10, Pere Marquette Township.

– 8 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, US 31 freeway north of Oceana Drive, Summit Township.

– 8:27 p.m., (MCSO), damaged street sign, Stiles and Fisher roads, Victory Township. The 911 caller witnessed a subject shoot a sign with a pellet gun.

– 11:21 p.m., (LPD), a 49-year-old Gladwin man was arrested for disorderly conduct, 100 block of James Street, City of Ludington.

– 10:47 p.m., (Ludington Police Department), a 43-year-old Harrison man was arrested for assault and battery and resisting/obstructing police, 100 block of James Street, City of Ludington.
