Hawley Road bridge now open.

LOGAN TOWNSHIP — Construction on the Hawley Road bridge between Campbell and Masten roads was completed today, Thursday, July 11, 2019. The bridge was closed on Jan. 14, 2019 and construction was originally scheduled to be completed by June 14.

The construction project included removing the bridge over the South Branch of the Pere Marquette River which was originally built in 1900 and reconditioned in 1973. The new bridge, when completed, will be a 90-feet by 31-feet (28-feet clear width) concrete box beam bridge with a 9-inch concrete deck.

Cost of the project is $1,048,000 and is funded by Michigan Department of Transportation, Federal Highway Administration, and Mason County Road Commission. Prime contractor is Davis Construction, Inc. of
