LUDINGTON – A 38-year-old Leroy, Michigan man was ordered to pay $39,600.70 in back child support in 51st Circuit Court Tuesday, May 7.

Eric Anthony Anglebrandt, of 16445 Burchwood Dr., was also ordered by Judge Susan K. Sniegowski to serve 35 days up front in jail with credit for 35 days served of a six-month discretionary jail term and five years probation.

Anglebrandt is convicted of a felony of failure to pay child support, which is punishable by up to four years in prison.

Sentencing guidelines in the case are 0-6 months.

Angelbrandt has three children, Sniegowski said. His probation term can be reduced if he pays the total amount off before the five-year term ends.

The judge said Angelbrandt has no prior criminal record. “What we have here quite frankly, Mr. Angelbrandt, is a failure to support your children. It’s just inexcusable.”
