79th District Court sentencings and dismissals, posted May 2, 2019.

LUDINGTON — The following were recently sentenced in Mason County’s 79th District Court:

-Cassandra Marie Flores, 21, of 116 E. Second St., Scottville, pleaded no contest Apr. 23 to assault and battery and was sentenced to 93 days in jail with credit for 22 days served. A second count of assault and battery was dismissed.

-Jill Katherine Jebavy, 55, of 905 St. Paul St., Ludington, pleaded guilty Apr. 23 to third degree retail fraud and was sentenced to 16 days in jail with credit for 16 days served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; must look into Jerico House living arrangements; must seek and maintain employment; no drugs/alcohol/marijuana/controlled substances without a prescription; must have a substance abuse evaluation; must attend AA two times per week;  subject to random PBTs and drug tests; $9.99 in restitution; and $795 in fines/costs.  A second count of third degree retail fraud was dismissed.

-Alfonso Gabriel Lopez, 20, of 308 E. Court St., Apt. 1, Ludington, pleaded guilty Apr. 23 to third degree retail fraud and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 93 days discretionary jail for two years; no drugs/alcohol/marijuana/controlled substances without a prescription; subject to random PBTs and drug tests; $107.11 in restitution; and $845 in fines/costs. A second count of third degree retail fraud was dismissed.

-Elijah Sean Schnell, 31, of 2074 W. Fountain Rd., Victory Township, pleaded guilty Apr. 23 to operating a vehicle while intoxicated (OWI) and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 93 days discretionary jail for two years; must attend victim’s impact panel; no drugs/alcohol; subject to random PBTs; must attend substance abuse disorder program; and $1,275 in fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to Secretary of State (SOS). A charge of operating with a blood alcohol content of .17 or more was dismissed.

-Jessy Lee Avra, 43, of 1744 Patrick Henry Dr., Scottville, pleaded no contest Apr. 23 to public intoxication and was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served; 90 days discretionary jail for one year and $285 in fines/costs.

Dismissals

-Jeffrey Alan Teunissen, 40, of 404 N. Emily St., Ludington, had charges of welfare fraud over $500 and welfare fraud (failure to inform) dismissed by the prosecutor on Apr. 19. According to court records, “Defendant has paid full restitution; The ends of justice do not require further prosecution.”

-Harold Wayne Nelson, 67, of 503 First St., Ludington, had a charge of operating without security (no vehicle insurance) dismissed without prejudice on Apr. 24 per a plea agreement.

-Christopher Aaron Plasterer, 22, of 2388 N. 32nd St., Sheridan Township, had a charge of operating without security (no vehicle insurance) dismissed without prejudice on Apr. 24 per a plea agreement.
