Ludington woman charged with 14 felonies involving stolen guns.

SCOTTVILLE – Heather Marie Vinton, 33, of Ludington, was arrested by the Mason County Sheriff’s Office Monday, April 29, and charged with 14 felonies stemming from the theft of guns, TVs, sporting goods, power tools and other items, according to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.

“On April 29, 2019, at 7:15 a.m., MCSO deputies arrested Heather Marie Vinton, 33 years of age from Ludington, following a larceny from a residence complaint in the 100 block of East 5th Street in the City of Scottville filed with the MCSO on Feb. 1, 2019,” Cole states in a press release. “Vinton was located in the 100 block of Gibson Road in Branch Township.

“During the investigation, deputies discovered numerous items reportedly stolen from the home, which included: TVs, guns and X-Box games, an outboard boat motor, snowboards, a generator, fishing rods/reels, and power tools.

“Ms. Vinton was identified as a suspect in the case and on April 25, 2019, detectives swore to a 14-count felony warrant. The counts are as follows:
Count 1 — Larceny over $1,000 but less than $20,000 (felony/five years/$10,000)
Count 2— Stolen property – receiving and concealing over $1,000 but less than $20,000 (felony/five years/$10,000)
Count 3-8 — Larceny of firearms (felony/five years/$2,500)
Count 9-14 — Felony firearms (felony/two years)

“Detectives have recovered seven firearms, numerous fishing equipment, power tools, a generator, snow boards and a boat motor from numerous pawn shops in the Muskegon and Grand Haven area.”

Vinton has been released from the Mason County Jail on a $15,000/personal recognizance bond.
