Scottville to consider hiring Brock as interim manager.

SCOTTVILLE — The Scottville City Commission will consider hiring Steve Brock as its interim city manager when it meets in regular session Monday, April 15 at 5:30 p.m. City Manager Amy Williams will end her tenure with the city following the meeting. While the commission, under the guidance of the Michigan Municipal League, searches for a new manager, it is expected to hire Brock. Brock served as the interim manager for the City of Ludington following the resignation of John Shay in 2018. Prior to that, he was the manager of Farmington Hills, retiring in 2015.

Williams said in a pre-meeting memo that she and Mayor Bruce Krieger have been in discussions with Brock. “Steve is a great guy and I’m happy that he is able to fill in here until a new manager is in place,” Williams said. “Steve and his wife spend their summers at their cabin in Ludington so he lives locally and is really the perfect fit for us on an interim basis.”

If approved by the commission, Brock will begin his duties the end of the month. The new city manager is expected to be hired by the beginning of June.

The commission meets at city hall, 105 N. Main St. An open house honoring Williams will be held immediately following the city commission meeting.
