LUDINGTON – A 40-year-old Kalamazoo man was sentenced in 51st Circuit Court Tuesday, April 2, to time served in jail for a conviction of failure to register as a sex offender and a second-offense habitual offender notice.
Dale Skyler Simerson, of 6522 Kingsville Dr., was sentenced to 61 days in jail with credit for 61 days served.
Simerson was held in Wexford County and served 87 days in jail for the offense, said his attorney David Glancy.
“You’ve had some repeated issues with homelessness and not understanding how to register,” said Judge Susan K. Sniegowski, who also ordered 18 months probation.
Simerson was convicted in 2003 in the Wexford’s County’s 28th Circuit Court in Cadillac of attempted third-degree CSC, according to the Michigan Sex Offender Registry. His most recent verification date was Feb. 12, 2019.
