Producing child sexually abusive material tops recent arraignments

LUDINGTON — The following were recently arraigned in Mason County’s 79th District Court:

Felonies

Pierce

-Robert Anthony Pierce, 21, of 210 N. Gaylord St., Ludington, was arraigned on felony charges of child sexually abusive commercial activity and using a computer to commit a crime. The charges stem from his arrest by the Ludington Police Department (LPD) on April 19, 2018. Preliminary hearing: Apr. 10 at 11:15 a.m. Bail: $10,000/10 percent.

Morong

-Gerald Francis Morong, 56, of 8210 N. Tuttle Rd., Free Soil Township, was arrested Mar. 23 by the Mason County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) on felony charges of assault with a dangerous weapon and resisting/obstructing a police officer. Preliminary hearing: Apr. 10 at 11:15 a.m. Bail: $10,000 cash/surety.

Vinton

-Heather Marie Vinton, 43, of 104 E. Fifth St., Scottville, was arrested Mar. 21 by LPD on a felony charge of unlawful use of a motor vehicle. Preliminary hearing: Apr. 10 at 11:15 a.m. Bail: $10,000 cash/surety.

DeWeerdt

-Brandon Scott Deweerdt, 34, of 1527 Oceana Dr., Hart, was arrested Mar. 22 by Michigan State Police (MSP) on a felony charge of carrying a concealed weapon. Preliminary hearing: Apr. 10 at 11:15 a.m. Bail: $7,500/10 percent.

Friedley

-Eric James Friedley, 42, of 210 E. Danaher St., Ludington, was arrested Mar. 18 by LPD on a felony charge of third-offense domestic violence. Preliminary hearing: Apr. 3 at 11:15 a.m. Bail: $7,500/10 percent.

Misdemeanors

-Jenna Diane Myers, 25, of 308 E. Court St., Apt. 1, Ludington; Mar. 21; LPD; second degree retail fraud. Pretrial: Apr. 8 at 9:45 a.m. Bail: $5,000/10 percent.

-Alfonso Gabriel Lopez, 20, of 605 S. Washington Ave., Ludington; Mar. 21; LPD; third degree retail fraud. Pretrial: Apr. 1 at 10 a.m. Bail: $3,500/10 percent.

-Donald William Price, 62, of 9236 S. Sawyer Ave., Evergreen Park, Illinois; Mar. 20; MCSO; operating a vehicle while intoxicated (OWI). Pretrial: Apr. 22 at 11 a.m. Bail: $3,500/10 percent.

-Tyler Alexander McEachern, 29, of 1891 N. US 31, Victory Township; Mar. 23; MCSO; OWI. Pretrial: Apr. 29 at 10:30 a.m. Bail: $2,500/10 percent.

-William Lester Cole, 52, of 28 S. Taylor Rd., Branch Township; Mar. 17; MSP; operating a vehicle with a high blood alcohol content and OWI. Pretrial: Apr. 29 at 11:45 a.m. Bail: $3,500/10 percent.

-Eric Scott Karnes, 43, of 1906 Kennedy Blvd., Hamlin Township; Feb. 27; MCSO; failure to maintain security (no vehicle insurance). Pretrial: Apr. 1 at 1:45 p.m. Bail: $1,500 personal recognizance.

-David Ryan Jordan, 19, no address listed; Mar. 18; LPD; failure to maintain security (no vehicle insurance), violation of learner’s permit and operating an unregistered motor vehicle. Pretrial: Apr. 8 at 9:30 a.m. Bail: $1,500 personal recognizance.
