Obituary: Gary F. Hermann, 69, of Ludington

Gary F. Hermann, 69, of Ludington passed away Sunday, March 3, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born February 14, 1950 in Grand Rapids to Theodore and Genevieve (Kroes) Hermann. Gary graduated from Ludington High School in 1968. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served his country during the Vietnam War from 1969 to 1971. He married Sharon L. (Farster) Wood on June 6, 2006 in Custer.

Gary retired from Harsco Rail in 2013 where he worked for over 20 years. He was a member of the Community Church in Ludington.  Gary loved spending time with his family and camping with his Whiskey Creek family.

Gary is survived by his wife Sharon Hermann; his daughter, Rachel Hermann; his stepchildren, Jason (Randi) Wood and Joe Wood; his grandchildren, Ryan, Joe, Tammy, Cameron, and Taylor, his first wife, Karen (Denny) Winters;and his first great-grandchild due in June.

Besides his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his daughter, Becky Campbell, and his brother Ted Hermann.

A funeral will be held Saturday, March 9, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Oak Grove Funeral Home in Ludington. Family will greet friends starting at 10 a.m. Gary will be laid to rest at Lakeview Cemetery in the spring.
