MCC Cocoa Shuffle offering free movie, fun run/walk.

SCOTTVILLE — Mason County Central Schools is hosting a fun run/walk and free movie event on Friday, Feb. 22. The Cocoa Shuffle, Popcorn and Movie Night begins at 5:30 p.m. with a 1.5 mile shuffle/walk/run on the northwest side of Scottville, beginning at the high school. At 6:55 p.m. the family-friendly animated movie “Small Foot” will be shown at A.O. Carlson Gymnasium. The entire event is free, including popcorn, hot cocoa and water.

Attendees do not have to participate in the shuffle. Prizes will be announced at the end of the movie for the first three finishers in several categories of the shuffle: Victory Early Childhood Center, Scottville Elementary, MCC Upper Elementary, MCC Middle School, MCC High School, Scottville Area Senior Center/adult winners.

“This is a great way to beat the winter blues,” said Angela Taylor, director of MCC early childhood development. “We welcome anyone from the community to attend this fun event. There will be seating in the Carlson, but families can also bring blankets if they want to sit on the floor.”
