Scottville man injured after rear-ending Oceana plow truck

LEAVITT TOWNSHIP (Oceana County) – A 27-year-old Scottville man injured after rear-ending an Oceana County Road Commission snowplow truck with his 2013 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck Thursday, Jan. 31, shortly before 9:30 a.m. on Filmore Road near 176th Avenue.

The man was transported by Life EMS to Mercy Health Partners Lakeshore Campus in Shelby.

The plow truck, which is a 2010 Kenworth, was eastbound on East Filmore Road while “conducting standard plowing operations,” states and Oceana County Sheriff’s Office accident report. The Silverado, which was also eastbound on East Filmore Road, was unable to stop and hit the plow truck. The road commission truck was “stopping on the road to continue plowing on North 176th Avenue.”
