55 participate in Scottville Optimist basketball skills tourney.

SCOTTVILLE — The Scottville Optimist Club recently hosted a Tri-Star Basketball Tournament for Mason County Central elementary and middle school students; 55 kids ages 8 to 13 participated in the event held Wednesday Jan. 9 at MCC Upper Elementary School.

The top three winners in each age category received a metal.

“The Skills Competition offered exciting opportunities to promote self confidence and physical fitness,” said Joe Knowles, president of the club. “It was ideal for every child as it does not involve physical contact or advanced skills.”
