Scottville ordinance committee recommends city opts out of marijuana sales.

SCOTTVILLE — The Scottville Ordinance Committee is recommending that the City Commission opt out of allowing recreational and medical marijuana dispensaries within the city limits. The committee met late last week and made its recommendation to create the ordinance, which is consistent with ordinances passed by several other Mason County municipalities.

The commission passed a resolution during its last meeting voicing its desire to opt out. However, an ordinance must be passed in order to enforce the law.

The city commission is scheduled to meet on Monday, Jan. 7 at 5:30 p.m.
