Child receives minor injuries following Eden Twp. crash.

EDEN TOWNSHIP — A 7-year-old Scottville girl received a minor head injury following a two vehicle crash at the intersection of Scottville and Chauvez roads Thursday afternoon. According to the Mason County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred when a Dodge Dakota pickup truck, heading west on Chauvez, pulled into the path of a northbound Dodge Ram pickup truck driven by a 31-year-old Scottville man. The Dakota was driven by an 18-year-old Custer man who told the deputy on scene that he had stopped at the stop sign but failed to the on-coming Ram. The collision caused the Ram to go into the west-side ditch and then rollover. The 7-year-old girl was a passenger in the Ram and was being checked out by medical personnel on scene.

Responding to the scene were Mason County Sheriff’s Office, Riverton Township Fire Department, and Life EMS out of Oceana County. The crash remains under investigation.
